I am wanting to know what the catholic religion contributed to today's American culture.

The influence of Catholicism in America has been here since the very beginning of our country. To this day, Catholics can influence the social scene; the movies we watch, the political scene, even the commerce, just to name a few. By voting on “catholic principals” we have and can continue to shape our political arena. By supporting catholic businesses we can continue to help those in our faith. By displaying our “catholic values” in all we do – be it work, play, or recreation, we can influence those around us by showing them our Catholicism by “action” – all good things. As St. Francis said, “Preach the Gospel at all times, and use words when necessary”.

As you can see – any group can influence their culture, and Catholics have been in the forefront of shaping the American Culture since it’s beginning. A good article on the topic that I have read in the past is
